Humble Indie Bundle V
So, the Humble Bundle isn't really anything new at this point. It's a proven success that pops up every now and then to bring some joy into our lives with a cross-platform, pay-what-you-want, DRM-free, charity-helping model. Still, maybe there are some people who weren't sold on it. "I've never heard of these games," they'd probably say. "These are tiny indie games that don't have super graphics and huge budgets and I look down my nose at them!" Jerks.
Well, the Humble Bundle folks have heard these hypothetical complaints - or, more likely, they just want to keep bringing you the best product they can. Either way, the Humble Indie Bundle V is legit. Like, for real. Leading the way? Psychonauts. That was an original Xbox release. Came on a disc and everything. Up next? Digital darlings LIMBO and Bastion. Not enough for you? Will Amnesia: The Dark Descent and Superbrothers: Sword & Sorcery EP sweeten the pot? Oh, you'll also get the soundtracks for the games. Bastion's is worth the price alone. I should know: I've bought it, and I'm happy to be getting it again.
So, Humble Bundle is offering "real" games now. Will that be enough to dissuade some companies from their high prices and draconian DRM systems? Doubtful, but we can hope. In the meantime, go ahead and support some amazing games and the always fabulous Humble Bundle.
