Humble Image Comics Bundle

Video games and comics go together like peanut butter and jelly. Or peanut butter and chocolate. Or peanut butter and...I don't know, apple slices. Peanut butter goes with everything. But the real point is that there's a lot of crossovers between the two mediums, from audience to content. Add to that the fact that Humble Bundle has branched out before with music and eBook bundles and it isn't really a surprise that the Humble Image Comics Bundle is finally a thing. Image is releasing some of the boldest, most interesting comics around right now, with stars like Jonathan Hickman, Brian K. Vaughan, Ed Brubaker, and Robert Kirkman. If you've missed out on some of these great series, now's the time to pick them up:
Every book is volume one of the title, so it's a great primer to each series. Plus, if you pay more than fifteen dollars, you get volumes one and twenty of Robert Kirkman's (and Tony Moore's and Charlie Adlard's) The Walking Dead. The trades of these books would run, I'm guessing, from ten to twenty dollars a pop, so getting all for fifteen bucks is the definition of a steal.

Like the video game Humble Bundles, part of the proceeds go to charity, in this case the Comic Book Legal Defense Fund. You also get them DRM-free in CBR, CBZ, PDF, and ePub format; Image's initiative on this front is something I've talked about before and am very high on, so I'm glad to see their DRM-free program getting highlighted.

That wraps up what has been a very humbling bundley week. It's very cool that this unique model is getting play in more forms of entertainment, and hopefully we see similar deals in the future.
